Bright Hope for Tomorrow
This Christmas, we are grateful for how the Winston-Salem Street School shares Christ's love with students, enabling them to have a bright future. It is our great joy to give them a tour, play an inventory game, and offer them a snack, all to welcome them into crowmunity.
Truly, Christ is our bright hope for tomorrow!
November Truck Driver Recognition
Congratulations to Rafael Wilson, Luis Acosta, and, Isac Mairena for being recognized for the excellent work in November, driving trucks. We are grateful for their efforts!
Faith in Action
Today, we hosted two non-profit organizations that let their light shine in different ways in the Triad. I am so glad that Jasiel Bernal Munoz, who is a manager at Faith Action working in Education, Advocacy & Bridge Building, reached out. We were able to donate in kind for their Christmas Box Campaign. Their love and long service to the Hispanic community is inspiring.
Pastor Griff Gatewood of The Study Center at WFU came by for a tour, which allowed us to marvel at God’s goodness. We reflected on how our Gracious Heavenly Father’s economy is so much bigger than our limited vision. Reminding students and ourselves of that fact is part of how God calls us to be faithful.
Thankful for Teachers
Chef Tony provided lunch today for two local public schools. We are so thankful for all teachers, and we hope the faculty and staff of Paisley/Lowrance and Lewisville Elementary enjoyed the food! Chef Tony was even able to tell the Kindergartners in his daughter’s class what it is like to be a chef. Rolando was glad to be part of this delivery, and Jessica came to pick up Paisley’s lunch. Great teamwork to show love to educators. And this Facebook Reel…tell me where the food at?
October Truck Driver Recognition
Congratulations to Allan Arellano-Noyola, Ariel Perez, and Michael Grubbs for being recognized for the excellent work in October, driving trucks. We are grateful for their efforts!
Food Show!
Abasto’s coverage of the Food Show is extensive. Be sure to check out Dan’s interview, a testament to the growth of the Hispanic Community and our gratitude for growing with it.
Fall Food Show Set Up!
It takes quite a bit of effort to set up the Food Show. Tomorrow is our Fall Food Show and today you see all the hustle and bustle of preparation. Lisa and Angelica have been at it for more than just today, setting the theme and doing decor. Tomorrow, when the attendees arrive, it will be that much more alive!
World of Work!
Purple Crow and Abasto had a bustling table at World Of Work this year at the Joel Coliseum. We interacted with 10th graders from all over the county and showed them that looking for best-by dates on Purple Crow products can be fun! (with king size candy bars as incentives)
Warm Meals, Big Smiles!
A flock of crows were spotted serving hot meals to their Winston Neighbors! What a gift it is to work and serve together! Did you know that Senior Services gives volunteers golf balls to make door knocks louder so the elderly residents can hear? And we thought they were just for Friday putt putt ….
Reach out to Philip Summers or Lucy Calhoun if you want to join us on our next route!
Serving Seniors with JOY!
It is so good to be neighbors with Senior Services! Being part of Meals on Wheels is so meaningful and mutually beneficial as we work to develop crowmunity.
A Mercado to Remember
The first annual Crow Mercado was a blast! We are so thankful to all the vendors who participated and the shoppers who came and shopped till they dropped! The artwork below ‘Crow Doing Crow Things’ was drawn by our employees and their families!
It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood
It's a beautiful day in this neighborhood
A beautiful day for a neighbor
Would you be mine? Could you be mine?Won’t You Be My Neighbor?
Song by Fred Rogers
This morning, we met our neighbors at Senior Services. We all came away so impressed by their work and their deep care for our community. We learned that in our very zip code of 27105 there are many seniors in the Meals on Wheels program. Meals on Wheels is feeling like a great way to met even more of our neighbors.
#the Pit
The Pit is next-level delicious. Thank you to everyone at Harvest Table for the lunch and for making us feel so welcome. We can’t wait to return the favor once our cafeteria is up and running.
