Full of Possibilities
Last evening, Phillip and I had the privilege of delivering a meal prepared by Chef Tony to Open Arms Community. Since 2000, Open Arms has served the Winston-Salem community by sharing the love, hope, and joy of Christ through programs that support children, families, and individuals in need.
We were warmly welcomed by Johanna, the director of Open Arms, and had the opportunity to spend time with the students before dinner.
One of the highlights of the evening was hearing Phillip read a letter of encouragement from Chef Tony to the students. In it, he wrote:
“No matter where you come from, what challenges you may face, or what people tell you, your future is full of possibilities…you all have talents, gifts, and potential that the world needs.”
Those words are powerful for people of any age. My hope is that each student left encouraged and inspired by Chef Tony's final message: never give up on your dreams.
As I watched the children play, I was reminded of 1 John 3:1: “See what great love the Father has lavished on us, that we should be called children of God!" Their joy and wonder reflected the beauty of being deeply loved by God. Each of them is treasured by the Lord.
Thank you, Open Arms, for allowing us to witness the incredible work taking place in Waughtown.
