Cinco de Mayo

We love any excuse to celebrate Mexican Food! And this year Cinco De Mayo falls on a Tuesday?! Taco Tuesday is a given!

Even a little alliteration like that is a powerful reminder of how words matter, and they create culture. Turns out, in the early 1970s, some marketing folks working with Mexican restaurants were looking for a way to celebrate, and they invented Cinco de Mayo as a celebration in America of Mexican culture. (The Mexicans did defeat the French in a battle that day, but it is not their Independence Day.)
