40 years as a Nurse

Jennifer Snead Simmons has been a cancer nurse for 40 years! That is longer than Purple Crow as been a company. Can you imagine all the people she has cared for during that time? She is also a bonus mother to our sales rep, Sonya Westmoreland. Sonya is so proud that her mother was named a “Visionary of the Year” by Blood Cancer United, formerly known as The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society (LLS).

We are so inspired by Jennifer’s dedication and impressive fundraising goal that we wanted to highlight her campaign. Please consider giving to https://pages.lls.org/voy/nc/triangle26/jsneadsimm.  With that link, you can learn more about Jennifer’s heart for blood cancers.

In her fundraising material, Jennifer writes:

“I am particularly passionate about childhood cancer. I have taken care of hundreds of children, adolescents and young adults who have been diagnosed with blood cancers (leukemias, lymphomas, myelodysplastic syndromes, etc.) The effects of these diagnoses reach far beyond the medical issues that you may already know about. For children, this diagnosis has an impact on their entire family and their future. Financial burdens occur because of lost work for the care-givers. There are psychosocial impacts on the children because of missed school, limited social interactions with their peers, even less time as a family unit. And effects of the treatments continue as they grow and develop into adulthood.

Blood Cancer United is an organization that is making an impact with the dollars it raises, and I’m proud to be associated with them!”

We are glad to be in Crowmunity with Jennifer because of her heart of caring for cancer patients.
